NEW HEALTH AND SAFETY ADVISOR FOR BNS

An in-house health and safety advisor has been appointed at a growing Bristol property management agency.

Maxine Matthews has joined BNS Property Management where she will oversee the health and safety practises of all 230 blocks managed by the firm across the South West.

Having provided tailored health and safety advice and support nationally for a number of years, Maxine brings a wealth of experience to what is now regarded as one of the region’s top property management agencies.

Having gained several qualifications in the industry including a NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Asbestos Awareness and Fire Safety, Maxine, who lives in Whitchurch, will provide support and advice for the company’s maintenance and property management teams.

Maxine will also be responsible for carrying out internal training, compiling risk assessments and managing the safety of contractors.

Commenting on her appointment Maxine, 36, said: “I am really looking forward to getting stuck in to my new role at BNS. The role itself is huge, ensuring the safety of over 230 apartment blocks, gated communities, housing estates and new build developments across the South West but I’m excited to get started.

“I started out in HR but migrated naturally into the health and safety remit, gaining my qualifications and learning everything I needed to know in a relatively short space of time. It has proven to be a natural fit for me and I really enjoy what I do.

“In the past BNS has outsourced their health and safety consultancy so I will be the first advisor to join the team internally. It will be great to carve out the role along with the directors Andrew and Ian and create a structure which will benefit the residents. I’m also really excited to be joining such a forward thinking business which is growing in size and reputation in the area.”

BNS Management, run by brothers Andrew and Ian Simmonds has a reputation for strong local connections, rapid response times and reliability establishing it as one of the region’s leading property managing agents. It offers different levels of service for both large and small properties.

Based in Downend, BNS manages properties across Greater Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath, Somerset, Taunton, Exeter and Cardiff.

Andrew Simmonds said: “We’re delighted that Maxine has joined the team at BNS. Having an in-house health and safety specialist will be a huge asset to us, our landlords and our leaseholders and will mean even more value for money for our clients. Maxine has an excellent knowledge of the industry and her competence will ensure we maintain the high standards our customers now expect.”
