A Downend Building Society agency which prides itself on offering a traditional service to the community has celebrated its 15th birthday.
The Yorkshire Building Society agency on Badminton Road has helped members with their finances for 15 years and marked the special occasion with an open weekend filled with cakes and refreshments for customers and passers by.
The Downend agency is run by local businessmen, brothers Andrew and Ian Simmonds.
Andrew Simmonds said: “We are delighted to have been providing this invaluable service to the community for the past 15 years and it has been great to celebrate with customers old and new as well as those who didn’t know about us and what we do.
“Yorkshire Building Society prides itself on helping its members save for the future and buy their own homes. We also provide a facility where people can come and speak to our experienced team, something which I think is being lost with more and more online banking services.
“We have built up a fantastic base of loyal customers. We know their individual needs and their trust in us has built a strong local agency.
“We’re all about the community here and this weekend it has been fantastic to connect with our customers and celebrate the success of the last 15 years.”
The party also served to celebrate the recent re-brand of the Yorkshire Building Society, which is the second largest building society in the UK.
Jane Taylor-Davies, national agency manager at Yorkshire Building Society said: “The Yorkshire Building Society agency in Downend is extremely proud to have served its community for the past 15 years. We are committed to helping our members at every stage of their lives, whether that be saving for their first home or putting money aside to help their grandchildren.
“I’d like to thank everyone who came along to help us celebrate. We look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.
